Like to work, possibly live, in a Castle providing leadership and Christian hospitality to churches and schools?

We have several full- and part-time leadership vacancies at Castlewellan Castle due to retirements, and we want to build a new, hands-on leadership team. We want to engage with highly motivated, hard-working people with appropriate skills and experience who share our vision that the Good News about Jesus Christ changes lives, and we have a role providing hospitality so that people can come to a beautiful setting and reflect on what citizenship means in the Kingdom of God. We need people to support our ministry by practical work keeping the rain out, the heat in, providing good food, hospitality, activities, and support for pastoral care in a setting that is safe, secure, and welcoming.

We seek people who are inspiring leaders and capable managers and administrators, able to work co-operatively to do what needs to be done so that guests have a great experience, and our premises and business are protected. We need people who can manage the centre or provide relief, provide catering, and develop our work with churches, Christian groups, and schools. If you also have craft, teaching or outdoor leadership skills and are a confident speaker you are doubly welcome – and if you need to develop these skills we will help you, on the job.

The roles include Centre Manager and Relief Manager, a Lead Caterer/Cook, and a Schools & Activities Co-ordinator. Some roles may be combined or shared to even out the seasonal nature of our business. Additional transferrable skills suitable to other practical aspects of residential work will be valued. At least one live-in position with accommodation and utilities provided is available.

Anyone who would like to explore these opportunities further should contact our Chief Executive Harry Baxter at leaving a telephone number and other contact details with a view to an initial telephone discussion.  Let us know what you have done, and want to do, through a short CV.

There is a Genuine Occupational Requirement that these people be active evangelical Christians in line with our Statement of Faith .
